This guide is designed to give students a starting point for ESL resources.
It is not a comprehensive guide to the ESL materials in the Spellman Library.
Evaluate Your Sources
To ensure that you’re using reliable and relevant information for your research needs, you must evaluate all of your sources for Authority, Sources, Purpose, Evenness, Coverage, and Timeliness (remember A.S.P.E.C.T.).
To learn more about the A.S.P.E.C.T. evaluation system as well as specific criteria for evaluating websites, books and articles, see our Research Tutorial.
Cite Your Sources
To avoid plagiarism and enable readers to access and learn from your sources, you must acknowledge the materials and authors you used in your research and cite your sources.
